Een dagje uitwaaien op zee: dat is echt vakantie. Vanuit de haven van Chrousso vaar je langs de schiereilanden Kassandra en Sithonia - bezaaid met prachtige stukken pijnbomen en gebleekte witte stranden. En tijdens deze relaxte boottocht stop je ook bij Neos Marmaras en Kelifos.

Je doel is Toroni waar je spelletjes doet op het strand of je relaxt en toch hard werkt aan je kleurtje. Je krijgt een snack aan boord terwijl de schipper de boot richting Neos Marmaras stuurt. Dit is één van de grootste havens van Halkidiki waar je ruim de tijd hebt om de winkels af te struinen en de stad te verkennen.

Je laatste stop in de namiddag is bij Kefilos dat ook Schildpaddeneiland wordt genoemd vanwege zijn vorm. Neem een laatste duik vanaf het achterste dek van de boot, voordat je weer terugvaart naar de haven.

Halkidiki boat trip with Neos Marmaras visit, swimming and lunch

Slow down and ease into a day where you'll escape the crowds and experience a little laidback luxury as you cruise around the western shore of Halkidiki's Sithonia Peninsula. Helene, a local guide, says “this tour takes us to some of my favourite spots. Spathies Beach has secluded coves without the usual hustle and bustle of the resorts, while Neos Marmaras offers a balance of cosy tavernas and traditional Greek charm, with modern bars and facilities.” You'll head to Nikiti Port where your boat awaits. From here, you'll sail down the coast of the Toroneos Gulf before dropping anchor at Spathies Beach for your first swim stop. Helene adds, “make sure you grab a snorkel and mask to make the most of this hotspot for parrotfish and damselfish – you may find an octopus hiding in rocky reefs, too.” Then, it's back on board to sail towards Neos Marmaras Village.There's free time for a wander around the village, where you can shop for souvenirs or chat with the friendly locals – it's the best way to soak up the culture. Then, you'll return to the sea and sail to Kelyfos Island, affectionally known as Turtle Island, while enjoying a light lunch on board. The cliffs of this tiny island make for some curious-looking cave formations at its edge that beg to be explored. Take the plunge off the side of the boat and swim around this uninhabited land. Or, if your idea of fun is simply basking on the deck with some music and a cold drink in hand, then feel free to unwind. Whatever floats your boat, you'll want to drink in the coastal views as you sail back to the harbour after a day of escapism.

Toroneos Gulf & Turtle Island Boat Cruise

A day at sea to blow the cobwebs away has holiday stamped all over it. Setting sail from the port of Chrousso, you'll glide along the Kassandra and Sithonia peninsulas – dotted with beautiful islands made up of pine trees and bleached white beaches. You'll also stop by Neos Marmaras and Kelifos Island on this relaxing boat trip.Your destination is Toroni, where you'll be able to have fun and games on the beach or just chill out and top up your tan. There'll be a snack provided once you're back on board, while the skipper navigates to Neos Marmaras. One of the biggest ports in Halkidiki, you'll have time here to explore the town and hit the shops.There's a one last stop during the afternoon at Kelifos Island. It's also known as Turtle Island because of its turtle shell-shape. Dive off the back of the boat for one final swim before heading back to port.
