Enjoy a visit to the Chocolate Museum in Cologne and see, smell and taste chocolate in its amazing countless shapes following its sweet genesis from the plantation to the factory.

While visiting the museum, you'll walk through a tropical garden of cacao trees, learn more about the production of chocolate, observe the casting process of chocolate figures, and stop by a chocolate fountain, where you can taste as much as your heart desires, and much more!

At the end of your visit, you can relax on the terrace of the museum's coffee shop "CHOCOLAT Grand Café". Indulge yourself with hot chocolate, chocolate cakes, fondants au chocolat, fresh waffles and crêpes, chocolate fondues, and many other chocolate pleasures, enjoying a unique panorama of the Rhine River.

The most comfortable way to reach the museum is by foot. By car, it is advisable to use "Holzmarkt" or "Rheinauhafen" as navigation keywords. Other comfortable ways to reach the museum are by boat and by "SCHOKO-Express" tram that departs every 30 minutes from the Cologne Cathedral.

  • Opening hours: from 10.00am to 6.00pm. New Year's Eve: 10.00am to 4.00pm and New Year's Day 10.00am to 06.00pm. Note: Christmas Eve and 25 December closed. In January, February, March, and November: closed on Mondays. Last admission: 1 hour before closure
  • The chocolate production ends about 30 minutes before the museum closes
  • 1 companion per disabled person (with companion ID) gets free entrance
  • Children up to 11 years get access only if accompanied by an adult
  • For all reduced tickets, please show a valid document
  • The museum is fully wheelchair accessible
  • Infants (age 0-5) enter for free
  • Pets are not allowed

    My wife and i had an amazing time during our visit today. To see the history and beautiful way you have displayed chocolate is incredible.All staff members were excellent and food and chocolates you make etc astounding thank you.

    Si visitas Colonia es una parada que hay que hacer , te explican todo al detalle y te dan a probar sus chocolates; después una parada en su tienda para comprarlos. Tienes que reservar hora , pero dentro te puedes tomar el tiempo necesario . Servicio de restaurante dentro mismo

    Schon die Eingangshalle mit Shop und Café machen Lust auf mehr. Viel Wissenswertes über den Anbau und die Kakaoernte erfährt man am Anfang im Museum. Hochinteressant wird es dann in der Produktionsstrasse mit dem Höhepunkt am Schokobrunnen. Alles in allem ein sehr schönes Erlebnis.
