Bevroren in de tijd door tragedie zijn Pompeii en Herculaneum een must-visit wanneer jij aan de Amalfikust bent. Deze twee Romeinse steden werden bedolven onder vulkanische as na een catastrofale uitbarsting van de Vesuvius in 79 na Christus. Nu ze zijn blootgelegd, zijn ze beide UNESCO Werelderfgoed en bieden ze een fascinerend en soms spookachtig inzicht in het leven in de klassieke tijd.

Eerst leidt jij gids jij door de straten van Pompeii en laat jij de rijk versierde villa's van de Romeinse bovenklasse zien - jij kunt nog steeds fresco's op de muren zien - evenals openbare ruimtes zoals het Forum. Wandel door de geplaveide straten terwijl jij de overblijfselen van tempels en villa's bekijkt.

Ga 's middags naar de archeologische vindplaats Herculaneum. Hier leer jij meer over deze voormalige badplaats die uit de vergetelheid is gered. jij ziet de boothuizen die de laatste rustplaats zijn van vele vluchtelingen, maar ook marmeren vloeren, mozaïeken en fresco's.

Capri Island Boat Cruise from Maiori

Capri is a small island with a big reputation. On this boat trip, you'll cruise around it, with stops to take in famous natural landmarks as well as swim in the sea. There's also the option of a visit to the Blue Grotto. That's not all though – there'll be some free time in Capri town.Travelling from Maiori, you'll zoom over to Positano or Praiano port by speedboat. On arrival, you'll be welcomed aboard a traditional Sorrentine gozzo boat and sail across the Bay of Naples to Capri. Cruise past the Natural Arch, Santa Croce Bay and the fjord of Furore. There's also a photo stop at Marina di Praia. We'll then continue west, drifting by the Sirenuse Islands, locally known as Li Galli – ‘the Cocks'.Once we've reached Capri, you'll catch sight of the White Grotto, the Natural Arch, Villa Malaparte, Faraglioni Rocks, Marina Piccola and the Green Grotto for a swim. There's an optional visit into the Blue Grotto available, too. We'll then dock in Capri town for some free time for shopping. To round off the cruise, there'll be a swimming stop on the return to Maiori.
