This tour criss-crosses Lanzarote in search of its top attractions. It kicks off in the green north, visiting the Jameos de Agua and an aloe vera plantation. You'll then enjoy a Canarian lunch in Haria before a blockbuster of an afternoon. A winery tour, Timanfaya National Park and El Golfo make for a stellar cast. David, one of our local guides, say, ‘It's hard for me to choose the best bit – they're all so good. You voyage to the moon and Mars, discover ‘cratered' winelands and visit a cave straight out of a Bond movie.'

Your adventure starts at either the aloe vera plantation or the Jameos del Agua. The latter are volcanic caverns converted into a nightclub by legendary Lanzarote architect Cesar Manrique in the 60s. The stage is still there, but the stars nowadays are the rare white crabs in a saltwater lake. Afterwards, lunch is served in a family-owned restaurant, which uses locally sourced ingredients. With this stop, you contribute to the local community and economy.

The afternoon kicks off with a tour of the family-owned Bodegas Rubicon in the volcanic La Geria region. Enjoy a tasting of its wines, which are made from grapes grown in moist circular cavities, known as ‘socos'. Then it's on to the otherworldly Timanfaya National Park. Follow the Lunar Route through lava fields, volcanos and steaming geysers before rounding off the day at the green lagoon of El Golfo.

Timanfaya Volcanic Tour

This half-day tour is Lanzarote in a nutshell. You'll call in at El Golfo lagoon, journey through Timanfaya National Park and visit the Salinas de Janubio. We'll even throw in a wine tasting session to round off the tour.First up, you'll visit the waters of El Golfo - it's emerald waters have starred in many a Hollywood film over the years. But that's just an appetiser for the main event – the visit to Timanfaya National Park. Famed for its moonlike landscape is dotted with lava fields and black rocks, you'll see the ‘Fire Mountain', to name but a few.We'll continue the tour with a stop in La Geria for a sip of some local wine before we reach Salinas de Janubio, the largest salt flats in the Canaries. Snap a few selfies with the miles of cotton-white salt mounds as your guide fills you in on the history of this all-important island resource. You'll even get a chance to try some, too.

Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park with transfers

Enjoy a day out at this popular, beautifully maintained Wild West, animal and water park. Near Puerto del Carmen, its 60,000 square metres of desert and gardens bristle with great animals, shows and cowboy and Indian adventures that'll keep everyone smiling. See the gorgeous white tigers and majestic lynxes. Peer at armour-plated armadillos, plodding tortoises and sleepy iguanas. There's also a petting farm, pony rides, a medicine man's cave and an Indian Village where the kids can play in wigwams, paddle kayaks and even pan for gold at a working wooden waterwheel.But the biggest draws are probably the shows. Running throughout the day, they include breathtaking birds-of-prey displays where eagles and hawks fly inches above your head, funny parrot tricks and a sea lion show. Your final stop of the tour will be at LagOmar, a stunning spot that seamlessly combines nature and art. This unique place is set in a volcanic quarry and includes features like a cave-bar, restaurant, and a museum. Local legend has it that Hollywood icon Omar Sharif briefly owned it, only to lose it in a game of cards.
