Why you’ll love this…
  • You'll sail the Sithonia Peninsula with two swim stops and time to roam Neos Marmaras Village
  • At the secluded Spathies Beach, you can swim and snorkel, looking for colourful fish and octopus
  • The charm of Neos Marmaras Village will win you over as you wander it's tavernas, cafes and shops
  • A visit to Kelyfos Island offers thrilling sea jumps from the boat or relaxing moments on deck
  • Halkidiki is your local guide's stomping ground and they'll point out all the best spots
What to expect

Slow down and ease into a day where you'll escape the crowds and experience a little laidback luxury as you cruise around the western shore of Halkidiki's Sithonia Peninsula. Helene, a local guide, says “this tour takes us to some of my favourite spots. Spathies Beach has secluded coves without the usual hustle and bustle of the resorts, while Neos Marmaras offers a balance of cosy tavernas and traditional Greek charm, with modern bars and facilities.”

You'll head to Nikiti Port where your boat awaits. From here, you'll sail down the coast of the Toroneos Gulf before dropping anchor at Spathies Beach for your first swim stop. Helene adds, “make sure you grab a snorkel and mask to make the most of this hotspot for parrotfish and damselfish – you may find an octopus hiding in rocky reefs, too.” Then, it's back on board to sail towards Neos Marmaras Village.

There's free time for a wander around the village, where you can shop for souvenirs or chat with the friendly locals – it's the best way to soak up the culture. Then, you'll return to the sea and sail to Kelyfos Island, affectionally known as Turtle Island, while enjoying a light lunch on board. The cliffs of this tiny island make for some curious-looking cave formations at its edge that beg to be explored. Take the plunge off the side of the boat and swim around this uninhabited land. Or, if your idea of fun is simply basking on the deck with some music and a cold drink in hand, then feel free to unwind. Whatever floats your boat, you'll want to drink in the coastal views as you sail back to the harbour after a day of escapism.

This trip is overrated by the TUI rep . 95 euros was too much for a trip on a boat with such uncomfortable seating . The time allocated to go ashore was far too short. Only had time for a coffee The boat family were lovely and so was the lunch but the toilet wasn’t good . It was blocked at one point and wouldn’t flush! My partner and myself are in our 70’s and had no chance of getting in to swim by the vertical metal ladder. I feel that should be addressed by the rep selling the trip . Unhappy

When we arrived on the boat there was no introduction to welcome us on board, who the staff were, where we were going or even any safety information! There was no comfort on the boat for a 4-8 hour trip. The hygiene of the boat was awful, at one point the toilet was unusable, toilet didn't flush & no running water to wash hands! Lady was lovely but she had her hands full looking after own children. Meat with lunch was under cooked. Scenery & Swim was nice.

Great trip , the couple that run the boat are simply wonderful, the only thing I would suggest is take a light coat with you as it can get a bit cold in the wind while you travel on the ocean.
