Att göra – The London Eye
London Eye är ett pariserhjul, uppkallat efter George Ferris Jr som byggde originalet till Columbian Exposition 1893. Det har dock funnits ”nöjeshjul” på mässor sedan 1600-talet, gjorda av trä och som drevs runt av starka män. En del tror att den mytologiska idén om ”Lyckohjulet” baseras på nöjeshjulet.
London Eye lanserades år 2000 och är det största fribärande hjulet (endast fäst på ena sidan) i världen, även om High Roller i Las Vegas är det högsta. Med sina 135 meter är London Eye tillräckligt högt för att se Windsor (på en dag med klar himmel) från en av de 32 kapslarna, som var och en inrymmer 25 personer och tar 30 minuter att åka runt. Om sådana höjder skrämmer dig finns det en mindre version av London Eye. . . på Legoland Windsor!
