Op deze halve dagtocht zie je Lanzarote in een notendop. Zo bekijk je de El Golfo lagune, trek je door het Timanfaya National Park en bezoek je de Salinas de Janubio. We gooien er zelfs een wijnproeverij tegenaan om de excursie af te ronden.

Eerst bezoek je de wateren van El Golfo – het smaragdgroene water heeft in de loop der jaren al in menig Hollywoodfilm een rol gespeeld. Maar dat is slechts een voorgerecht voor het hoofdgebeuren – het bezoek aan het Timanfaya National Park. Beroemd om zijn maanachtige landschap bezaaid met lavavelden en zwarte rotsen, zie je de 'Montañas del Fuego', om maar wat te noemen.

Dan is er een stop in La Geria voor een slokje lokale wijn voordat je Salinas de Janubio bereikt, de grootste zoutvlakte van de Canarische Eilanden. Maak een paar selfies met de kilometers lange katoenwitte zoutheuvels terwijl de gids je alles vertelt over de geschiedenis van deze uiterst belangrijke bron van het eiland. En natuurlijk proef je er ook wat van.

Robert was brilliant and there is nothing about volcanoes that he doesn’t know. A very interesting man and very knowledgeable. Pity about the Norwegians on the tour who can’t tell the time and even though clear instructions of 10 mins to be back at the coach were given, were over 1 hr returning. Would suggest that customers are to return to the same coach seats as it did cause trouble between customers.
