Visit the historical concentration camps at Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau on this day-long excursion from Krakow.

By mid-1940, Jews along with over 700 political prisoners had been transported to Auschwitz, marking the beginning of a horrific chapter in history.

En route to Auschwitz, which is approximately an hour's journey, you'll be shown a brief documentary about the liberation of Auschwitz - Birkenau. This will provide you with some background knowledge about the camp's history.

Upon arrival at Auschwitz, your tour leader will equip you with all necessary information, rules and procedures for your visit to the Museum. Following a brief pause, your group will bypass any queues and begin the guided tour.

The Museum is split into two sections: Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II - Birkenau.

Know in advance:

Pick-up time is flexible (between 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM). The local operator usually adjusts it by only 30–60 minutes from the time indicated on your voucher, but sometimes a bigger change is needed due to the Auschwitz Museum’s schedule or traffic
While in the camps, visitors are required to behave appropriately and respectfully
Visitors are generally allowed to take pictures with a few, clearly indicated exceptions
A visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau can prove traumatic, therefore it's suggested that visitors are at least 13 years old
The maximum size of your carry-on can not exceed the following dimensions: 30 x 20 x 10 cm. You can leave your larger luggage in the car

Remember to bring:

As it is mandatory in Auschwitz Birkenau museum to confirm your personal details, you are required to take with you your passport or ID to be presented at the museum's entrance. Please do not forget it, otherwise you may be not allowed to enter the museum
Lunch is not included. There's no time for a regular meal between visits to Auschwitz and Birkenau, so bring a snack. Grocery shops, snack bars, and restaurants are not available on-site
