This trip was excellent value. The Felucca trip was excellent and took us along a stretch of shoreline that was teeming with wildlife. The skipper was a lovely, charming man who seemed determined to give us a lovely, serene experience and provided drinks and fruit for the trip. The guide was a lovely knowledgeable local lady who accompanied us throughout the trip. She provided a great guided tour around the Luxor Temple which whilst busy was a fantastic. This was best trip we did all holiday!!!
Enjoy a relaxing evening journey aboard a traditional felucca boat, sailing the ancient waters of the Nile towards Luxor. Sit back and take in the city skyline magically lit up and enjoy the local snacks and refreshments onboard. Rabbi, one of our local guides, says, âYouâll get a true taste for Egypt on a felucca and Luxor â one of Egyptâs has a different soul during the golden hour, itâs as if the spirits of the pharaohs come aliveâ.
After pick-up from your hotel, youâll get ready to step aboard the traditional wooden felucca. As you glide along the Nileâs rippling water, your guide will bring the horizon to life. Rabbi says, âLuxor is often called the worldâs greatest open-air museum. It boasts many archaeological treasures as well as burial sites of famous pharaohs Tutankhamun and Ramses II.â As you listen, savour the taste of delicious bananas cultivated in Luxorâs fertile soil, with snacks and a bottle of water.
Your serene cruise treats you to a stop at the Luxor Temple, one of the best-preserved monuments in the world. Youâll get to disembark here and walk up to the temple to admire its massive columns, statues and intricate carvings illuminated magically at night. Itâs a photographerâs dream. Rabbi says, âSee the one obelisk at the entrance? Its counterpart can be found in Parisâs Place de la Concorde, gifted to King Louis Philippe in 1865.â
