Dette udflugtseventyr om formiddagen starter med ét besøg i Rabil - Boa Vistas næststørste by. Fra de sprudlende gader til den traditionelle arkitektur, byen afspejler øens hårde men modstandsdygtige karakter. Her besøger du en keramikfabrik, hvor du kan se de lokale kunsthåndværkeres arbejde og måske få fat i en souvenir af lokalt lertøj. Du kan også smage Kap Verdes nationalret, catchupa, en fyldig gryderet af majs, bønner, svinekød og grøntsager - og ingredienser skifter, ikke bare fra ø til ø eller landsby til landsby, men fra hus til hus.

Derefter skal du holde godt fast, mens vi suser gennem det støvede landskab i Viana-ørkenen. Vores næste stop er Povoação Velha, den ældste bebyggelse på øen. Du træder rundt i de rustikke gader, inden der er afslapning på den 11 km lange Santa Monica-strand. Dens sukkerhvide sand står i kontrast til det lysende blå vand. Det ligner nærmest et postkort. Het was niet echt een leuke tour. Het dorpje wat we bezochten was wel leuk. Verder geen waar voor je geld. Er werd nauwelijks iets verteld, de gids was moeilijk te verstaan, hij praatte heel zacht. Al met al een waardeloze tour !!
